Requirements

  • BA in Business Administration or finance related field preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required

  • Computer Skills: General computer knowledge, email, Microsoft word, excel

  • Knowledge of healthcare, pediatrics, insurance and medical terminology

  • Knowledge of medical codes

  • CPR Certification

  • 3 years or more of experience in medical insurance billing

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Divide and finalize EOBs

  • Analyze all denied claims

  • Print all denied claims and place in tracking binder

  • Follow up on research/reprocess claims within the appropriate time frame

  • Check patient charges if private pay

  • File paperwork/claims

  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding denials and or/issues

  • Sort deposits by locations and turn in weekly deposit log

  • File appeals if needed

  • Be persistent with insurance companies regarding claim payments

  • Keep up with top priority denials
